Compensation: $115,000.00 - $140,000.00 Key Requirement: This role requires a strong maintenance leadership background, with oversight of plant maintenance and utilities. Experience with ammonia systems, boilers, compressors, and process towers is essential. Job Summary: Mechanical Engineer will be capable of working in all phases of the Plant process to assure the facility operates in a highly efficient manner. A highly efficient manner is one in which utilization rates are constantly being monitored and maintained at as high of a level as possible (100% being the goal). Assure that the plant equipment is maintained in a proactive manner, by completing PM’s and repairs in coordination with the scheduled downtimes and machine stoppages. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned: Monitors plant line efficiency strengths and weaknesses. Makes appropriate recommendations to management. Works with department heads to insure Plant runs at a high level of efficiency Proactively looks for ways to eliminate down time causes by addressing root causes. Maintains documentation of Capital Projects and related equipment. Help’s right standard Operating Procedures for new equipment. Highly active in Capital Projects, Installations and New Equipment startups. Attends FAT’s when needed. · Ensures that proper GMP procedures are followed as outlined by the Company's Quality Dept. Ensures contractors adhere to GMP and Housekeeping procedures/policy. Develop and maintain a close working relationship with the departments. Be proactive in identifying needs and promote the TEAM approach to fulfilling these needs. Maintains a professional working relationship with other plant management, customers and vendors. Possesses a high degree of initiative and flexibility. Performs studies when assigned. Participate in developing and maintaining plant safety awareness. Carries out additional assignments made by Management. Develop standard operating procedures for assigned equipment. Help coordinate and plan down day activities. Support our maintenance team in continuous improvement activities· Schedule down day tasks and resources. Help coordinate capital projects. Carry a cell phone 24/7 to support the plant during off hours. Maintains plant records and drawings related to the infrastructure and design. Support the Company's strategic operating plan and manage projects and tasks assigned to you. Use the company provided tools to manage your projects. Maintenance and implement components of SQF System (Food Safety and Food Quality) as required. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 3 to 5 years combined experience in plant processes including demonstrated knowledge of mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, building maintenance, wastewater treatment, boiler operation and maintenance and refrigeration. PC literate Excellent oral and written communication skills Extended Shelf Life experience preferred Working with Conveyors. Auto-Cad experience Ability to read schematics and piping diagrams LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Strong people skills. Strong verbal/written communication skills MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, algebra and geometry. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
