Senior Full Stack Software Engineer – Java | Spring Boot | Vue.jsContract: FreelanceStart: October 2026Duration: Until the end of December 2026Workload: Full-timeLocation: Remote, must be EU- or UK-basedLanguage: EnglishThe Project: We are looking for an experienced Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to support the development of a modern buying solution within a large Tech Supply environment.The platform automates and optimises end-to-end purchasing and article onboarding workflows, connecting technology, buying, supply and business intelligence functions.You will work across both backend and frontend development on a modern, Kubernetes-based technology stack, with a strong focus on scalability, resilience and short release cycles.What You’ll Do:Design, develop and maintain backend services using Java and Spring BootBuild and enhance frontend functionality using Vue.jsDevelop and maintain event-driven services using KafkaWork with distributed systems in a cloud-native, Kubernetes-based environmentCollaborate closely with product teams and cross-functional Tech & Supply stakeholders, including Buying and Business IntelligenceContribute to software design and architecture decisionsBuild resilient, scalable and maintainable solutionsSupport the complete development lifecycle, including unit, integration and functional testingWork with CI/CD pipelines and modern monitoring and observability toolingTroubleshoot, profile and optimise application performanceWhat We’re Looking For:You should bring:5+ years of hands-on Java and Spring Boot experienceStrong experience with event-driven architecture and KafkaGood understanding of distributed systemsCommercial frontend development experience with Vue.js or a comparable modern JavaScript frameworkStrong experience with Kubernetes and containerised/cloud-native applicationsVery good knowledge of relational databases, ideally PostgreSQLExperience with automated unit, integration and functional testingCI/CD experience using tools such as Jenkins and/or GitLabExperience with application monitoring, profiling and performance tuningFamiliarity with ELK, Prometheus and GrafanaAbility to contribute to architecture and technical design discussionsFluent English, as this is the primary working languageTech Environment:Java | Spring Boot | Vue.js | Kafka | Kubernetes | PostgreSQL | Jenkins | GitLab | ELK | Prometheus | GrafanaThe Setup:This is a full-time freelance assignment running from October until the end of December 2026.The project can be delivered remotely, working as part of an international, cross-functional product and engineering environment, but candidates MUST be based in the EU and/or UK.We are particularly interested in senior engineers who are genuinely comfortable working across the stack rather than backend developers with only limited exposure to frontend development.
