Data Engineer

This position will be a 6-month contract, hybrid in Newark, OH.Data EngineerOverviewOur client is seeking a Data Engineer to help support and enhance enterprise data pipelines, reporting solutions, and analytics platforms. This role will focus on maintaining and developing ETL processes, making data available for dashboards and reporting, and helping the team work through a significant backlog of post-merger integration and modernization projects. The ideal candidate will have strong SQL skills, experience working with data pipelines, and the ability to build scalable data solutions in a Snowflake environment.Must-Haves4+ years of Data Engineering or ETL development experienceStrong SQL skills with the ability to write and optimize complex queriesExperience developing and supporting ETL/data pipelinesPython development experienceExperience with Snowflake and/or Oracle databasesTableau experience (Power BI is also valuable)Experience working with DBT and SQL-based data modelsAbility to gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutionsStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skillsPlussesAWS experience (Glue, DMS, Lambda, EventBridge)SSRS reporting experienceGitLab, GitHub, or other version control toolsTableau, SnowPro, or other Data Analytics certificationsDay-to-Day ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, maintain, and support ETL pipelines and data integrationsBuild and enhance data models using DBT, SQL, and SnowflakeCreate data sources and support reporting solutions in Tableau and SSRSGather requirements from business stakeholders and create technical documentationSupport post-merger data integration efforts and ongoing data migration activitiesMonitor data pipelines, troubleshoot issues, and resolve production incidentsWork with AWS tools including Glue, DMS, Lambda, and EventBridgeHelp reduce a large backlog of data engineering projects and modernization initiativesImprove existing processes, upgrade legacy solutions, and enhance overall data qualityCollaborate with cross-functional teams through daily meetings, Teams, and email communication
