Process Engineer

Job PurposeThe role of the Process Engineer is to ensure all processes meet the final quality of the product and the efficiency of the production system. The Process Engineer responsibilities include designing and implementing production processes, reducing inefficiency, recognizing patterns, collecting data, implementing methodologies, and improving quality. This role reports to the VP of Global Operations.Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop, optimize, and monitor chemical manufacturing processesEvaluate existing manufacturing processes and identify areas for improvementDevelop and implement operating procedures, systems, projects, and strategies to improve efficiency and reduce operating costDesign, test, implement, and manage projects from start to completion, including scope development, process design, cost estimation, construction, commissioning, and start-upLead or participate on projects to implement new products to the site, interacting with lab chemists, the commercial team, environmental, health and safety, and plant operations teamInteract directly with supply chain, quality, and operations teams to drive continuous improvementDevelop best practices, routines and innovative solutions to improve production rates, quality of output and product reliabilityCreate process simulations and conduct risk assessmentsPerform process analysis and make recommendations for improvementProvide technical support and training to staff and junior engineersEnsure all processes and procedures comply with safety and environmental regulationsWorking closely with other specialists, including engineers and scientists, to develop productsDocument all created processes and update and maintain these documents as changes occurOperate in a fast paced, dynamic work environment, managing several projects and priorities simultaneouslyProvide process documentation and operating instructionsProvide process and equipment design, process optimization, and troubleshootingConduct process development experiments to scale in a laboratoryManage cost and time constraintsEnsure compliance with safety and environmental regulationsSkills and QualificationsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Working knowledge of laboratory prototyping, safety precautions and protocols for safe handling and disposal of hazardous agents, reagents, chemicals, and materials.Exceptional organizational, communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.Work under minimal supervision.Attention to detail, effective problem solving and decision-making skills.Qualifications includeMinimum bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Bioengineering, Chemistry, or related technical discipline.Knowledge of process-related standards.Knowledge of MS Project, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.Working conditionsThis position may require minimal travel.This position may require working evenings and weekends.Physical requirementsProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift to 25 pounds at a time.Must be able to climb stairs and ladders in a chemical process tower.J-18808-Ljbffr
