Molding Technician

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other business-related duties may be assigned. Follows all ISO 9001/ ISO 13485 Procedures and Work Instructions in the performance of these duties. Setup molds for upcoming production runs. Clean and maintain molds as directed by process engineer. Begin production for approved product. Assist with material handling and regrind utilization. Document changes to molding process. Work with quality department to identify product non-conformity and correction. Perform weekly maintenance on injection molding machines. Assist with monthly and yearly maintenance of injection molding machines. Assist with keeping production floor clean and organized. Assist with re-grind of materials SKILLS NECESSARY Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Power Point Process knowledge – Molding, debinding, sintering, secondary. Control plans – Knowledge of how to use them, find gaging and instruct operators. Blue Print reading knowledge Organizational skills Leadership skills QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Minimum of high school diploma and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as rates, percentages and sums. Ability to apply concepts of basic arithmetic and algebra. REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must hold a valid Pennsylvania Driver's License. SUMMARY Sets up, operates, and tears down injection molding machines to produce products from metal injection molding feedstock Responsible for maintenance of injection processes to meet standard cycle times and quality requirements. Ability to properly handle material, molded product and related inventory control. Must have experience and knowledge of proper operation of manufacturing and material handling equipment. Participates in developing and or revising production methods to incorporate Lean Manufacturing principles
