How will you make an impact?
As a Field Service Engineer, you will handle on-site installations, maintenance, and repairs of sophisticated systems. You will test equipment, train customers, and lead projects.
What will you do?
As the primary field service engineer for the region, make sure to meet customer needs efficiently
Conduct on-site tool installations and follow testing procedures to ensure accurate working order
Conduct on-site scheduled planned maintenance visits
Offer solving and repair support for customers and other field service personnel
Cultivate and develop positive working relationships with customers, system users, and company personnel
Successfully complete technical training as required
Proactively seek out additional learning opportunities both inside and outside of the region
Travel, sometimes on short notice, to customer sites to resolve problems or support colleagues
Complete and submit administrative reports
Partner with colleagues to acquire or provide technical mentorship and training
Provide training for users on system operation
Make yourself available to train and mentor new field service engineers
Provide feedback to product quality teams
How will you get here?
Education
2-year technical degree, equivalent military, or technical training
Experience
Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on technical experience installing, repairing, and calibrating tools such as SEM, TEM, FIB, Probers, or similar systems
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Detailed understanding and extensive experience solving and repairing ultra-high vacuum, high voltage, mechanical, and computer issues
Consistent track record solving complex problems by process of elimination techniques down to the component level
Able to read and interpret schematics
Literate in Windows software environments
Ability to partner effectively with customers and colleagues
Excellent interpersonal communication skills; must have professional working proficiency in English
Able to acquire a valid passport to travel regionally and internationally as required
Must possess a valid driver’s license
Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Able to secure entrance to US Government laboratories and facilities, if required
