We encourage our team members to grow and learn, and offer many opportunities for personal and career development.The Apis Line CookThe Apis Line Cook is on the front lines of culinary service at our restaurant, carrying out all aspects of dish preparation, and maintaining food standards as set by management. Line Cooks are responsible for presenting all dishes with precision and quality that meet company standards. Tasked with mastering each station of the line, Apis Line Cooks are also accountable for cleanliness and food & equipment safety.ResponsibilitiesExecute menu items from start to finish--this includes but is not limited to: preparation of ingredients, butchery of proteins, cooking and plating of menu itemsMaintain the functionality and proper stocking of each kitchen stationMaintain proper par levels for all ingredients and prepped food items, as directed by managementLimit waste by maintaining proper food prep, proper food storage, and proper FIFO procedures for all ingredientsMaintain cleanliness of any BOH work areas, including and not limited to refrigeration, cooking equipment, and prep areasParticipate in deep cleaning of BOH work areas, including and not limited to refrigeration, cooking equipment, and prep areasAssist in the washing of dishes as necessaryWork collaboratively with BOH staff and FOH staffParticipate in the preparation and development of new menu itemsHone existing skills while learning new techniques and building your skill setAdhere to all company service standards and protocolsUnderstand and execute food safety and allergies protocolsAdditional service and/or operational tasks as determined by managementBe knowledgeable of the restaurant and its historyCommunicate respectfully with coworkers at all levelsAdhere to grooming and dress code standardsSkills & Requirements2 years of related culinary experience or education requiredGeneral knife handling, food safety & sanitation knowledgeHigh volume restaurant experience preferredComfortable working in a fast paced & high energy environmentMust demonstrate a mastery of organizational skills, with an ability to multi-task while maintaining high service standardsMust possess an exceptional work ethic, an eye for detail, a strong sense of hospitality, and a collaborative attitudeA passion for food and a dedication to continued learningReceptive to constructive criticism & performance feedbackAble to work in a standing position for long periods of timePhysical DemandsThe physical demands for this position are seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, frequently lifting up to 25 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for 4 to 8 hours, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours.
