The Meat Cutter delivers the highest level of customer service and satisfaction by following the company's meat merchandising plan and trimming /preparing standard cuts of meat as outlined in the Meat Cutter Resource Manual. The Meat Cutter demonstrates excellent teamwork, interpersonal skills, and commitment to the success of the team.Duties and ResponsibilitiesWorks under the direction of the Meat ManagerCuts, packages, wraps, weighs, prices, and labels meat products using knives and power equipment in accordance with company and USDA standardsPrepares, merchandises, and maintains attractive meat displays to maximize salesEnsures proper product rotation, dating, and storage in display cases and coolersReceives, inspects, and stores meat deliveries to maintain cold chain and product qualityMaintains daily sanitation, food safety, and quality standards per company policyAssists with ordering, inventory processes, markdowns, and scale operations as neededPerforms other related duties to support overall store operations and protect company assetsThis is a non-management position. This position does not have the authority to make decisions concerning hiring, terminations, demotions, promotions, or otherwise take tangible employment actionPosition QualificationsCompany work history will be strongly considered, including attendance, work performance, safety, policy compliance and performanceProficiency in basic math skills required, including addition, subtraction, multiplication and divisionMust be able to read, write and speak in English. Demonstrate effective oral and written communication, interpersonal skills. Language proficiency in Spanish or other languages is desired.Must be dependable and flexible, including a willingness to work in other areas of the store, as needed with little or no advanced noticeExcellent customer service, teamwork and problem-solving skillsMust adhere to a uniform dress codeEducation and ExperienceMust be 18 years of ageHigh School Diploma or equivalent (Required)1 year of experience safely using manual pallet jacks, hand tools and power equipment, including but not limited to knives, wrappers, scales, slicers, cubing machine, and power saw (where certified to cut meat) (Preferred)Successful completion of Leevers Meat Cutter Training Program within three monthsFood Safety Certification may be required.Physical ActivitiesRequires the ability to reach, bend, balance, lift, and carry items weighing 20-50 pounds on a regular basis.
