Senior Accountant - 100% Remote

Kforce has a client that is seeking a 100% remote Senior Accountant. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who can independently own complex accounting functions while also contributing strategically to process optimization and systems enhancement efforts.Key Responsibilities:Own assigned accounting areas through monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reportingLead and support cash accounting, payroll accounting, fixed asset accounting, and general ledger activitiesPrepare and review complex journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and supporting documentationOversee account reconciliations and investigate variances in accordance with US GAAP and company policiesManage fixed asset accounting processes including capitalization, depreciation, disposals, impairments, and reconciliationsSupport payroll accounting activities including payroll journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations in coordination with Payroll and HR teamsPerform detailed variance, trend, and flux analysis and communicate findings to accounting leadershipDesign, execute, and maintain SOX controls and supporting documentation for assigned accounting processesReview documentation, accounting outputs, and reconciliation activities completed by automated tools, AI-assisted workflows, or junior accounting staffPartner cross-functionally with Finance Systems, Treasury, FP&A, Internal Audit, Payroll, and Operations teamsDrive process improvement initiatives focused on automation, scalability, and operational efficiencyEvaluate and leverage AI-enabled accounting tools and automation technologies including solutions such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude, Gemini, and related technologiesSupport accounting system functionality, integrations, and process enhancements within NetSuite and related financial systems* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field7+ years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting and/or industry accountingStrong experience operating at a Lead Accountant or Accounting Manager level in a hands-on individual contributor capacityDeep understanding of US GAAP, general ledger accounting, and SOX/internal controlsStrong NetSuite ERP experienceAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills with experience working with large data sets and system-generated reportingExperience supporting automation initiatives, process redesign, or accounting transformation effortsStrong communication and collaboration skills in a fully remote environmentSelf-driven, detail-oriented, and capable of operating independently with minimal oversightProven experience with:General ledger accountingCash accountingPayroll accountingFixed asset accountingFull-cycle close processesPreferred Qualifications:CPA certification strongly preferredExperience with Treasury Management Systems such as Kyriba strongly preferredPublic company accounting experienceExperience with NetSuite Account Reconciliation (NSAR)Experience leveraging AI-enabled tools within accounting operationsFamiliarity with accounting workflow automation and reconciliation optimization tools
