Pool Concessions / Front Desk (Part-Time Seasonal)Pool Team Members play an important role in creating a fun, safe, and welcoming experience at Memorial Pool. This entry-level, seasonal position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while providing friendly, efficient service to pool guests throughout the summer season. Pool Team Members may work in concessions, front desk, or both, depending on scheduling needs. This role focuses on teamwork, communication, responsibility, and delivering a positive first impression for all guests entering the facility. Guest Service & Team ExperienceGreet guests in a friendly, professional, and welcoming manner. Serve as a positive first point of contact for pool visitors. Answer basic questions and assist guests or refer concerns to appropriate staff. Help create a fun, respectful, and team-oriented environment for guests and coworkers. Front Desk OperationsAccurately operate point-of-sale systems for admissions and passes. Understand and communicate daily admission rates, punch cards, and season pass options. Handle cash and card transactions accurately, including making change and issuing receipts. Assist with basic paperwork such as tally sheets, deposit reports, and incident documentation. Concession OperationsPrepare and serve concession items such as pretzels, hot dogs, pizza, snacks, and fountain beverages. Operate concession registers accurately and efficiently. Follow standard recipes, portion guidelines, and preparation instructions. Work efficiently during busy swim times and peak attendance periods. Safety, Cleanliness & ComplianceFollow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene guidelines. Complete City-provided Food Safety training prior to beginning work. Assist with maintaining clean, organized concession and front desk areas. Perform daily cleaning, stocking, and closing duties as assigned. Support safe pool operations by following policies and assisting with rule enforcement when appropriate. Teamwork & OperationsWork cooperatively with fellow Pool Team Members, lifeguards, and supervisors. Assist with maintaining a safe, enjoyable environment for all patrons. Perform other pool- and park-related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Ability to communicate clearly, respectfully, and positively with guests and coworkers. Ability to take responsibility for assigned tasks and support team success. Ability to remain calm, focused, and professional during busy or high-energy situations. Willingness to accept feedback, follow direction, and learn new skills. Dependable, punctual, and committed to being a positive team member. Basic math skills for handling cash and transactions. Ability and willingness to enforce pool rules, policies, and safety standards consistently and fairly. Demonstrates reliability, independence, and a strong sense of responsibility. Physical RequirementsAbility to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and move throughout the pool facility. Ability to move arms above waist level and turn body side to side. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors and may include exposure to varying weather conditions. Minimum QualificationsAbility to communicate clearly, respectfully, and confidently with peers and guests. Ability to follow established procedures while demonstrating good judgment. Willingness to complete City-provided Food Safety training prior to beginning work. Reliable transportation to and from scheduled shifts. Ability to follow instructions and workplace values and rules. Preferred QualificationsExperience working in a team-based environment (school, sports, clubs, or activities). Demonstrate responsibility, accountability, and reliability.
