This role involves operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting equipment to minimize downtime, optimize efficiency, and ensure product quality. The Line Technician plays a key role in technical support, cross-training, and collaboration between production and maintenance teams.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate, monitor, and adjust production line equipment to maintain optimal performance.Identify mechanical or process issues and assist in resolving them quickly to reduce downtime.Perform intermediate-level troubleshooting and escalate major issues to the maintenance team.Support line changeovers and start-up/shut-down procedures.Preventative MaintenancePerform routine maintenance tasks such as lubrication, belt changes, and filter cleaning.Assist with scheduled maintenance activities in collaboration with maintenance personnel.Document completed technical tasks and communicate any issues discovered.Safety & ComplianceAdhere to all safety standards, including the proper use of PPE and lockout/tagout procedures.Follow OSHA and GMP practices and company policies for equipment use and maintenance.Participate in safety audits and inspections as required.Quality Control & DocumentationMonitor production output for adherence to quality standards.Record machine settings, downtime, and shift performance metrics.Assist with root cause analysis when defects or operational issues occur.Training & CollaborationCross-train operators on routine adjustments and line support.Collaborate with Line Leads and Maintenance Technicians to improve performance.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and offer technical feedback on process enhancements.Qualifications & SkillsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferred.Minimum 12 years of experience in a manufacturing or production setting.Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.Familiarity with production machinery, tools, and troubleshooting techniques.Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-focused environment.Responsibilities may change as business needs dictate.About Surestaff: At Surestaff, we are dedicated to helping individuals unlock their career potential through meaningful job opportunities.
