Network Security Engineer
A little about this gigAgility Partners is seeking an experienced Network & Security Engineer to help design, implement, and operate the network and security estate at Barings. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who brings deep technical expertise, a passion for secure networking, and the drive to continuously improve a global enterprise environment. You will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of network services while collaborating closely with a high-performing team in an Agile delivery model.Key responsibilities include:Designing, implementing, and operating the network and security environment in alignment with established policies, processes, and procedures.Operating as a technical contributor within an Agile team environment.Providing technical leadership and working collaboratively with other engineers.Designing, implementing, and operating secure networking capabilities across the enterprise.Proactively maintaining network and security hardware, applications, and services.Responding to incidents, service requests, and troubleshooting connectivity or performance issues.Implementing planned changes across all network and security devices and services owned by the team.Responding to emergency situations and performing effective troubleshooting during major incidents.Producing and maintaining high-quality documentation, including:Network and security designsOperational and run documentationChange recordsRunbooks and test plansSupporting control, audit, and risk management routines.Participating in the team on-call rotation as required.The ideal candidateThe successful candidate will bring strong technical depth across networking and security technologies, along with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, global environment.Required qualifications and experience include:Significant hands-on experience with Palo Alto Firewalls and Panorama in a global enterprise environment.PCNSE or PCCSE certification, or equivalent practical experience.Cisco CCNP certification, or equivalent practical experience.Advanced understanding and experience with OSPF and BGP routing protocols.Azure networking experience, including AZ-700 certification or equivalent experience.Strong knowledge of micro-segmentation principles and technologies.Practical experience implementing Zero Trust security principles.Experience using Wireshark or similar packet capture and traffic analysis tools.Experience with DDoS mitigation services.Familiarity with LogicMonitor or comparable monitoring platforms.Experience with Cisco ISE and/or other Network Access Control (NAC) solutions.Experience with multiple connectivity technologies, including DIA, MPLS, and DWDM.Experience supporting Cisco and Meraki wireless solutions.Additional skills and attributes:Broad, well-rounded knowledge of infrastructure technologies.Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and adapt to shifting priorities.Strong communication and presentation skills.A passion for innovation and continuous improvement.A collaborative mindset with a commitment to creating a caring, inclusive, and safe team environment.Network automation experience is a strong advantage.Reasons to love itOpportunity to work in a global enterprise environment with modern networking and security technologies.High-impact role with ownership across design, implementation, and operations.Strong emphasis on technical leadership, collaboration, and innovation.Exposure to advanced security concepts such as Zero Trust and micro-segmentation.Support for professional growth through hands-on experience with leading platforms and certifications.A team culture that values Agile delivery, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.Meaningful work that directly contributes to the stability, security, and resilience of the organization’s technology landscape.
