Our client is seeking a highly skilled Security Engineer with expertise in JavaScript and TypeScript web browser extensions for a critical project.Job Overview: We are looking for an experienced Security Engineer to join our client’s team on a 3-month contract. The successful candidate will play a key role in auditing and ensuring the security and integrity of their web browser extensions. This fully remote position is open to candidates based in Europe and the UK.Key Responsibilities:Conduct comprehensive security audits and assessments of web browser extensions developed in JavaScript and TypeScript.Identify, analyze, and mitigate security vulnerabilities and risks within browser extensions.Implement robust security protocols and best practices to safeguard extensions against potential threats.Collaborate with the development team to integrate security measures into the software development lifecycle.Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, vulnerabilities, and industry standards, particularly within the crypto space.Provide detailed security reports and recommendations for continuous improvement.Conduct penetration testing and code reviews to ensure maximum security.Assist in incident response and remediation efforts for any security breaches.Document security findings and audit results in clear, actionable reports.Qualifications:Proven experience as a Security Engineer, particularly with web browser extensions.Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, with a strong understanding of modern web technologies.Extensive knowledge of web security principles, practices, and protocols.Experience with security tools and frameworks such as OWASP, Burp Suite, and others.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Familiarity with agile development methodologies and collaborative team environments.Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or similar are a plus.Experience in the crypto and security industry is highly desirable.Requirements:Must be based in Europe or the UK.Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.Availability for occasional virtual meetings with team members across different time zones.Immediate availability to start the contract.
