Supervisor Logistics
PURPOSEThe Logistics Supervisor position supports the efforts of the Logistics Manager to meet SMC stated goals concerning on time delivery, quality, expenses. Ensure a management presence on the floor through hands on supervision of all activities that take place within the distribution facility.ESSENTIAL DUTIESEnsure work load is evenly distributed throughout the assigned area in a manner to ensure customer delivery requirements and quality objectives are metAssist other groups within the distribution facility by shifting resources to meet customer demandEnsure proper execution of all transactions that affect delivery and inventory accuracyCompletion of all customer inquiries concerning open ordersAudit 10% of all transactions concerning delivery and physical inventory for accuracy and timely completionAudit assigned area for inventory accuracy at the location level to ensure goals set by management are met or exceededEnsuring KPI's for area are being met and if below targets, take action to correct issuesSuggest and implement process changes based on statistics and root cause analysis with management approvalPhysical maintenance of the area to 5S standards and management requirementsKeep area stocked with appropriate supplies to perform daily processesCompliance to ISO9001 and ISO14001 standards within the areaPerform HR related duties (hire, schedule, counsel, document performance, payroll)Inform employees of management decisions and initiatives. Provide the appropriate support tools to achieve desired resultsOngoing classroom and on the job training of all employees (product and process)Daily, Monthly tracking and reporting of direct and indirect labor efforts of all personnelDaily communication with all employeesAll other duties as assigned PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENTPhysical demands require the person to regularly stand, walk, and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms.The work environment will expose employee to the following elements: Noise, Heat, Cold, Dust, Oil, and Grease (70% of work hours). The work environment is an office/professional environment (30% of work hours MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSPreferred Associate or Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience3-5 years work experience in management or warehouse environmentAbility to communicate effectively with team members and managersMust be able to utilize the ERP, WMS, WES and other software as required to perform duties as listed aboveProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English languageMust be able to be certified to drive equipment required in warehouse
