Residential Camp Nurse (RN/LPN/NP) - Summer 2026 Location: Casco, ME Employment Type: Full-Time, Seasonal (June 12 - August 7, 2026) About Client A long-standing residential girls' summer camp in Maine's lakes region, operating since 1916. Known for its tight-knit community, outdoor programming, and a culture built around kindness, personal growth, and tradition. Nurses are considered core members of the leadership team. Compensation & Benefits Base Salary: $1,000-$1,400/week - Based on experience and qualifications Shift: One full day off per week; daily personal time built in; 2-3 overnight on-call shifts per week Benefits Package: Private bedroom in a shared 2-bedroom cabin; all meals included; travel stipend based on distance; daughters ages 7-17 may attend camp (registration fee required; programming, uniforms, and activities included); weekly laundry service or free on-site washer/dryer access; telemedicine partnership with The Camp Doctors Job Summary Serve as a trusted health resource for campers and staff throughout a full residential summer season. Deliver day-to-day medical care, manage the Wellness Center, and collaborate with camp leadership, families, and medical partners in a community-centered, outdoor setting. Key Responsibilities Deliver individualized medical care and health support to campers and staff throughout the summer Prepare the Wellness Center for the season: review medical forms, organize supplies and first aid kits, and set up health documentation systems Administer daily medications and manage injury care and illness support Maintain thorough, timely medical documentation using the camp's health database Participate in staff training covering standing orders, medical protocols, emergency procedures, and camper-specific health considerations Assemble trip health kits and provide medical support for off-site activities Arrange and transport campers to outside healthcare providers when clinically indicated Assist with ACA and state compliance through inspections and accurate documentation Provide overnight on-call coverage on a rotating basis Communicate with parents, directors, counselors, and staff with professionalism and empathy Minimum Requirements RN, LPN, or NP with current, active licensure Female nurse (required) RNs must hold Maine licensure or a Compact state license 1+ year of experience working with children or in a pediatric setting Current CPR & First Aid certification Valid driver's license with a clean driving record At ease in non-traditional, community-based healthcare environments Strong communication, organizational, and documentation abilities Familiar with HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards in a camp context Flexible, upbeat, and collaborative; able to navigate uneven terrain and respond calmly to urgent situations Ideal Qualifications Prior experience in summer camps, schools, community health, or other non-hospital settings How to Apply At Rio Staffing, we specialize in connecting skilled professionals with well-run organizations and high-quality programs.
