Assistant Handyman
Job Overview:
We are looking for a proactive and reliable Assistant Handyman to perform a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general maintenance, with the ability to address issues across our hospitality venues, rental properties, and construction sites. This role requires a hands-on approach, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to different environments and challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance & Repairs: Conduct routine maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, and painting across hospitality venues, rental properties, and construction sites.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and address issues with HVAC systems, appliances, fixtures, and other equipment. Ensure timely and effective resolution of maintenance problems.
Property Upkeep: Ensure all properties are maintained to a high standard, including performing repairs, preventative maintenance, and general upkeep to enhance the appearance and functionality of the spaces.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Report any potential hazards or safety issues.
Customer Service: Interact with tenants, guests, and property managers with professionalism and courtesy. Address concerns and complete service requests promptly.
Construction Support: Assist with construction projects by performing tasks such as installation, demolition, and finishing work as needed. Collaborate with construction teams to support project objectives.
Inventory Management: Keep track of tools, materials, and supplies. Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition and report any needs for repairs or replacements.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including detailed reports and updates on ongoing projects or maintenance tasks.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Handyman, Maintenance assistant, or in a similar role with a strong understanding of building systems and maintenance techniques.
Proficiency in various trades including plumbing, electrical, painting, and restaurant maintenance.
Familiarity with safety standards and regulations relevant to maintenance and construction work.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and address a wide range of issues.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with property managers, tenants, guests, and team members.
A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Ability to lift and carry heavy items, and perform physically demanding tasks as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Own truck (truck allowance provided) and gas card for work-related travel.
Basic knowledge or experience in trades such as plumbing, electrical, and restaurant maintenance.
Experience working in hospitality or property management environments.
Basic knowledge of construction practices and experience supporting construction projects.
