Job OverviewThe Material handler position is a physically demanding role which requires long hours of standing, bending, and heavy lifting. This person must be able to operate the company’s electric pallet lifts and hoist system to assist in loading or moving materials and products to the required destination. The function of the material handler is to maintain predetermined stock levels at all workstations and support production by filling in at other workstations as needed.A Day In The LifeWork independently or with team members to maximize productivity and efficiencyAssure that all products meet the highest standard or qualityPerform pre-inspection of materials to ensure proper inventory levelsFollow all safety rules and ISO requirementsAssure that materials stocked at workstations match the production specification sheetAdhere to all company rules and policiesKeep work areas clean and organizedEnsure that work practices are in the guidelines of OSHA standardsMust have an understanding of measurements using standard and metric measuring devicesUse pallet jacks and forklifts to stock products and materials at the appropriate locationsHave the ability to operate a hoist properly and safelyDistribution of insulated cores to winders as per supervisor’s instructionAbility to safely use hand and power tools.Must be able to set up winding machine, understand settings & functions, and ensure machine is running properly to avoid unnecessary down timePerform pre-inspection and post-inspection of cores and materials.
