Your expertise will directly support hospitals in maintaining coding accuracy, regulatory compliance, and data integrity.We're looking for a highly analytical coding professional who thrives in a remote environment, stays current on evolving coding guidelines, and takes pride in producing high-quality work.What You'll DoReview complex inpatient medical records and accurately assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS diagnosis and procedure codesEnsure accurate MS-DRG and APR-DRG assignment by applying Official Coding Guidelines and Coding Clinic guidanceCapture Present on Admission (POA) indicators and identify secondary diagnoses that impact Severity of Illness (SOI), Risk of Mortality (ROM), Hospital Acquired Conditions (HACs), HCCs, Social Determinants of Health (SDOH), quality measures, and reimbursementIdentify qualifying procedures and technologies, including New Technology Add-On Payments (NTAP), to ensure complete reimbursementValidate discharge disposition documentation for coding accuracyMaintain exceptional coding quality while meeting productivity expectationsStay current on ICD-10 updates, Coding Clinic publications, Official Coding Guidelines, payer requirements, and industry best practicesUphold AHIMA Standards of Ethical Coding and maintain the highest level of confidentiality and professionalismCollaborate effectively with internal coding leadership and quality review teamsQualificationsRequiredAHIMA credential (CCS, RHIA, or RHIT)Minimum 3 years of recent acute inpatient hospital coding experienceExperience coding at a large acute care hospitalProficiency assigning ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codesStrong understanding of:MS-DRGsAPR-DRGsPOA indicatorsOfficial Coding GuidelinesCoding ClinicExperience using electronic medical records such as Epic, Cerner, Meditech, or similarExperience with 3M, TruCode, or comparable encoder softwareExcellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skillsAbility to work independently in a fully remote environmentPreferredRecent Level I Trauma Center coding experienceAcademic Medical Center coding experienceExperience capturing:NTAP opportunitiesHCCsSOI/ROMSDOHQuality outcome diagnosesWork Environment & ExpectationsFully remote, full-time position (40 hours per week)Monday through Friday during regular business hoursCompany-issued equipment providedDedicated secure home workspace requiredHigh-speed internet connection requiredStrict adherence to HIPAA Privacy and Security requirementsAbility to work independently while maintaining productivity and quality expectationsWhy EnjoinAt Enjoin, we believe exceptional people deserve exceptional support.
