Job title: Staff Security EngineerJob type: ContractContract Length: 6-monthsRate: $30 per hourRole Location: RemoteThe company: Our client provides businesses with a leading one-click checkout solution that drives secure, high-converting customer experiences.Role and Responsibilities: Scope the cardholder data environment, find the control gaps, close them, line up the QSA, and run the assessment to completion. Get cloud, endpoint, and SaaS telemetry flowing, build detection and alerting coverage that reflects our actual threat model, and own triage from day one. Secure their AWS and GCP environments as well as, their Kubernetes infrastructure, with everything managed as code in TerraformJob Requirements 8+ years in security engineering, software engineering, or both. Deep, hands-on AWS security experience with infrastructure as code. You are fluent in Terraform and comfortable in native cloud security tooling (GuardDuty, Inspector, Security Command Center, or equivalents). You've secured production cloud environments, not audited someone else's. You have personally owned PCI DSS and/or SOC 2 controls through an audit. Experience operating a SIEM or detection platform, including standing one up, tuning detections, and running incident triage and response. Ability to read and reason about production codeAbility to read and reason about production code (TypeScript, Go, or similar) well enough to threat-model real systems.
