Utility Engineer

Job Description Are we the road to your future?We are currently searching for an experienced Utility Engineer to support ourGulf Regionlocated in Mobile, AL.All candidates should make sure to read the following job description and information carefully before applying.To be considered for this position, applicants must have at minimum, 2 years of utility design experience.What you’ll be doing:Engineering design for various linear utility projects, including water and wastewater, electric, telecommunications and natural gasPlanning and management of various projectsOversee and guide designers and drafters to deliver linear utility projectsResponsibilities may include applying established and well-defined engineering techniques, procedures, policies or standardsPerforms design computations, checks plans or computations, and develops quantity takeoffsAdjusts and correlates data, recognizes discrepancies in resultsIdentify and analyze problems using reasoning to arrive at conclusionsApplies standard practices and techniques to accomplish work assignmentsUnderstands and adheres to assigned phase and task schedules and budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of projectParticipates in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policiesCoordinates work to ensure best practices with all team membersAttends appropriate team meetingsActively look for ways, and reinforce the actions needed, to improve performance within the larger organizationPrepare transportation reports and plans based on project analyses and assessmentsAdheres to company standards for quality assurance and quality control as defined in the quality manualWorking closely and effectively communicating with team membersWhat you need to have:Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering2 - 5 years of design experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, GeoPak, OpenRoads, and InRoadsRegistered Professional Engineer (PE) preferredUtility experience preferredPrevious client relationships are a plusAbility to work well with other related disciplines and coordinate design activities for timely completion and within resource budgetsExperience and ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment in the solution of work problemsAbility to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
