Plasma Table Operator

NIGHT SHIFT ONLY POSITION OVERVIEW: The Messer Machine Operator is responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of Messer cutting machines. This role involves setting up the machine, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring the quality of the cut products. KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Machine Setup and Operation: Set up the Messer machine for cutting operations, adjust machine settings, and load materials. Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of the Messer machine to ensure optimal performance and prevent downtime. Quality Control: Monitor the cutting process, inspect finished products for accuracy and quality, and make necessary adjustments to maintain high standards. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of machine settings, maintenance activities, and production output. Crane Operation: Operate cranes to move materials in and out of the Messer machine, ensuring safe and efficient handling of heavy materials. Nesting Work Orders: Nest work orders to maximize material usage and machine efficiency, reducing waste and optimizing production. Material Inventory Audits: Assist with material inventory audits to ensure accurate tracking and management of materials. Maintain a clean work area and follow 5S basics. JOB SKILLS Strong mechanical aptitude. Ability to read blueprints and follow product specification instructions. Attention to detail. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and manuals. Ability to nest work orders efficiently. Basic computer skills for documentation and inventory management. Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve machine issues. Good command of the English language, both written and verbal is required. EDUCATION & TRAINING High school diploma MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Two years’ fabrication experience. Strong mechanical aptitude. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals. Basic computer skills for documentation and inventory management. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: Technical training in machine operation and crane operation. Experience with nesting work orders to maximize material and machine efficiency. Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve machine issues. Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors. Attention to detail and commitment to quality. Forklift and crane operation certification. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and practices. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work performed in a shop environment Exposed to any number of elements but with none present to the extent of being disagreeable Requires normal vision and absence of color blindness Physical effort equal to frequent moving of up to 50lbs materials Regularly required to sit or stand, bend and reach The use of Safety Glasses is required The use of earplugs is recommended Ability to stand up to 10 hours a day (with a lunch in between) and up to 6 days a week Ability to work in a non-air-conditioned environment. Steel-toe boots required in Manufacturing Facility
