Title: Certified/Licensed Dental AssistantPractice: Valley Oral and Facial SurgeryLocation: Bismarck, NDHours:Monday: 7:00am - 4:00pmTuesday: 7:00am - 4:00pmWednesday: 7:00am - 4:00pmThursday: 7:00am - 4:00pmFriday: 7:00am - 11:00amSaturday: ClosedSunday: ClosedWorking hours may vary based on the operational needs of the office.Eligible new hires receive a $2,500 sign-on bonus—$1,250 paid after 30 days of employment and $1,250 after 12 months of continuous employment.Position Purpose:The surgical assistant is responsible for ensuring the compassionate, effective, and efficient delivery of high-quality clinical care for patients while practicing and providing safety in the work environment. The ideal candidate will assist oral surgeons during procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a strong understanding of surgical procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.Essential Functions: Ensure that all patients receive the highest quality of care and serviceCommunicate with all patients (both in-person and by phone) in a friendly and professional manner.Maintain positive, pleasant, and professional relationships between patients, staff members, and surgeons.Oral surgeons during surgical procedures and prepare instruments, materials, and equipment needed for various surgical procedures.Support efforts that provide a clean and professional environment for all patients, including, but not limited to, ensuring that operatories are clean, supplies are adequate, equipment is maintained, and compliance with all company policies is maintained.Monitor patient's vital signs during surgical procedures and provide support as needed.Assist with postoperative care, including patient education and follow-up instructions.Documentation of patient encounters and surgical procedures accurately.Collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, efficient workflow, and exceptional patient care.Attend and participate in regular team meetings.Adhere to best practices and established protocols and highest patient safety standards.Support monthly office checks:Crash cartsFire extinguishersEmergency preparedness attestationsAttestXray unit calibrationOmni-cam calibrationDrug book accuracy Controlled substance inventoryOxygen tanks are full and hooked up.Invoices for controlled substances are being printed.Ensure proper controlled substance safety protocols are adhered to.Qualifications: Education/Certification:High School Diploma or equivalent required (some college, preferred)Basic life support certification required. Employers will provide training if the candidate is not current.Experience:Previous dental experience – Preferred not requiredExperience as an oral surgery assistant or dental assistant is preferred.
