SQL & Linux Database Administrator

Job Description We are seeking an experienced *SQL & Linux Database Engineer* with *7–11 years of experience* in database management, SQL development, Linux administration, scripting, and data analysis. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with relational databases, query optimization, Linux systems, and automation using Python or Bash. Key Responsibilities * Design, develop, maintain, and optimize relational database schemas, tables, indexes, and relationships. * Write complex SQL queries for data extraction, analysis, reporting, and data manipulation. * Perform query tuning, troubleshoot slow-running queries, and implement indexing and performance optimization strategies. * Administer and support databases such as *MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or Microsoft SQL Server*. * Perform database monitoring, troubleshooting, backup, data import/export, and routine maintenance activities. * Administer *Linux servers*, including user management, permissions, file systems, processes, security configurations, and firewall rules. * Develop *Bash or Python scripts* to automate database, Linux, and data-related operational tasks. * Analyze large datasets and support reporting using SQL and tools such as *Power BI or Tableau*. * Troubleshoot database connectivity, SQL, Linux, and application-related issues. * Work closely with developers, data analysts, IT teams, and other stakeholders to maintain system reliability and optimize processes. * Support cloud-based environments such as *AWS or Azure* where required. Required Technical Skills * *7–11 years* of relevant experience. * Strong *SQL* development and database management experience. * Hands-on experience with *MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server*. * Strong understanding of *RDBMS, database design, data modeling, and performance tuning*. * Strong *Linux administration* skills with RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, or similar distributions. * Experience with *Linux security, permissions, firewall rules, process monitoring, and shell scripting*. * Proficiency in *Python and/or Bash scripting*. * Experience with database backup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and automation. * Knowledge of *Power BI, Tableau, AWS, or Azure* is an advantage. * Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills. Education Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field preferred. Work Location: In person
