Acute care areas include Medical, Surgical, Emergency, Intensive Care, Childbirth, Pediatric, Operating Room, Perianesthesia, Endoscopy/GI, and Cardiac Cath Lab units.Essential Responsibilities:Effectively manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term goals.Stay current with product and practice changes through ongoing education, applying knowledge to improve cost efficiency.Demonstrate expertise by making appropriate patient care assignments based on acuity and technical needs.Foster excellent relationships with patients, visitors, physicians, and colleagues, embodying core values such as respect, integrity, collaboration, empathy, and courage.Communicate clearly to manage expectations and provide timely responses to patient needs, ensuring a positive care experience.Maintain a therapeutic environment by minimizing noise and supporting healthcare students and their programs.Prioritize safety for patients, guests, staff, and self by adhering to national safety standards, HIPAA, and Just Culture principles.Engage in professional growth through leadership opportunities, certifications, advanced degrees, and shared governance.Promote teamwork by inspiring and mentoring colleagues, fostering cooperation, and building trust.Education and Experience:Graduate of an accredited nursing program or, if unaccredited, a minimum of five years acute care nursing experience.Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required within five years of hire; enrollment in an accelerated MSN program is acceptable.Completion and maintenance of area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty certifications.Licensure:Active Registered Nurse license as required by the state board of nursing.Work Shift:Night shift, typically 6:00pm to 6:00am, 36 hours per week.This position is located in a regional healthcare facility serving the Midwest area of the United States.
