Welder

We are currently looking for a Welder (night shift) at our Portland location. The Welder position is responsible for the welding maintenance of materials and equipment throughout the scrap metal yard. Essential Functions: Operates welding equipment such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, flux-colored arc, plasma arc, shield metal arc, resistance welding and submerged arc welding. Utilizes tools to weld metal in flat, vertical or overhead positions Monitors welding progress to assure the fit, burn and weld process is efficient and does not cause harm to materials or equipment such as overheating, warping, shrinking, distortion or expansion of material Inspects and maintains welding equipment, reporting all maintenance issues to supervisor or manager Provides backup or assistance throughout the yard as needed or assigned Adheres to all PNW Metal Recycling, Inc. safety policies and standards Other duties or cross-training in other positions may be assigned Qualifications: Previous experience with welding equipment Ability to read and understand machine layouts and blueprints Must be able to wear all required PPE Ability to speak and understand English; ability to speak and understand Spanish desired PNW Metal Recycling, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
