This is a dynamic and highly visible environment.Position Overview:
Leads the functional engineering organizations (Systems, Structures, Payloads, Propulsion) through the structured investigation process for issues related to FAA issued Letters of Investigation, Informal or Formal Compliance Actions, Voluntary Disclosures, Self-Audit findings, and Part 25 Airworthiness Non-Compliances.
Provides technical guidance and training relative to complex safety and airworthiness matters.
Coordinate with engineering teams, project administrators, and regulators (may include international regulators/validation authorities) to successfully certify projects for commercial aircraft production teams
Review certification plans, write letters to regulators, and understand compliance process
Leading cross-functional teams resulting in resolution of technical issues.
Coordinate technical messaging and partnering with the FAA on regulatory issues
Own, manage, and have/develop technical aptitude to enable execution of process/procedure documents (BPM, BPIs, D6s, D950s, etc.)
Ensure proper coordination across products, platforms and functional areas to promote culture of compliance to requirements and application of procedures and FAA guidance
Develop strategic action plans for changes to certification processes and execute those plans through completion
Contribute to root cause corrective action plans for development and execution of noncompliance’s, voluntary disclosures, informal corrective actions, formal corrective actions, etc. including reviewing/researching processes, design practices, analysis, conducting root cause analysis, and identifying/owning corrective actions and corrective action plansBasic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
Level 3: 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Level 4: 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience managing and/or leading a team either formally or informally, with the ability to provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members
Experience leading cross-functional teams
Ability to take ownership of work activities to ensure they are completed accurately and efficientlyPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience)
Experience collecting data from multiple sources, performing analysis and presenting data
Experience defining and executing a strategy for digital products and services
Previous experience with Safety Management Systems and/or understanding of FAA Part 5 regulations relating to SMS (or the equivalent global ICAO standards).
Experience with Safety Management Systems (SMS)
Experience with BowTie Risk Analysis
Experience working with Boeing ODA E-UM and I-UM resources
Systems thinker
Experience clearly, concisely, and objectively identifying and framing regulatory compliance issues, determining root causes, and recommending corrective actions

Mid-Level (Level 3): $114,750.00 - $155,250.00
Senior (Level 4): $141,100.00 - $190,900.00
