Camp Counselor

At J Camp, our Camp Counselors play a vital role in creating unforgettable summer experiences for campers--filled with laughter, learning, friendships, and adventure.Whether you're leading games, swimming with campers, or helping them navigate social moments, you'll be part of a supportive team that puts safety, inclusion, and joy at the center of everything we do.Positions available for:Regular Camp DayAM Extended CarePM Extended CarePay: $18.50-$21.30 per hour (based on experience and location)What You'll DoAs a Camp Counselor, you will:Be responsible for a designated group of campers, ensuring they have a fun, safe, and positive camp experienceActively participate in and supervise daily camp activities, including swim timePlan, lead, and support engaging activities throughout the camp daySupervise campers at all times, including during field trips and bus transportationSupport campers' social and emotional wellbeing through positive behavior guidance, conflict resolution, and encouragementCommunicate clearly and consistently with fellow J Camp staff and leadershipEnsure camp spaces are cleaned and ready for the next dayHelp campers transition smoothly between activities and locationsServe as a positive ambassador of the SJCC both on and off campusFollow all SJCC safety and emergency proceduresWork occasional evenings or weekends as neededTake on additional responsibilities as assignedWhy You'll Love This RoleMake a real impact in kids' livesBuild leadership, teamwork, and communication skillsWork in a fun, inclusive, and mission-driven environmentSpend your summer active, outdoors, and connected to your communityIf you're enthusiastic, responsible, and excited about working with kids in a fast-paced, joyful environment, we'd love to have you on our team!Minimum Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.Education/Experience: Experience and/or training working with children preferred.
