Job SummaryBreaking News Multi-Media Journalist and Producer – Leads digital coverage of breaking news and weather in the overnight hours for KOLN's morning show. Provides newscasts coverage and assists the overnight producer when no breaking stories are available.ResponsibilitiesLead digital coverage overnight, including writing local news stories as needed and posting to social media.Report breaking news from the field and the 10/11 Streaming Studio.Monitor police scanner for breaking news.Drive the 10/11 storm-chasing vehicle, the Weather Shield, during weather events.Produce the 10/11 morning show on a fill-in basis.QualificationsExceptional writing ability.Exceptional news judgment and sense of urgency.Familiarity with social media and streaming services.Some experience in journalism, preferably broadcast journalism.A four-year degree in journalism or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.Familiarity with ENPS, Edius, or other non-linear editing systems, TVU, Bitcentral, or Arc Publishing is a plus.Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record.EEO StatementGray Media provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or genetics.
