Associate Social Media Manager (Freelance)
We are seeking a freelance Associate Social Media Manager to support a new celebrity-led show across social platforms. This role will primarily focus on content organization, publishing, audience growth, and day-to-day social channel management.The ideal candidate understands internet culture, social trends, platform behavior, and what drives engagement. You’re the type who instinctively knows what clip should become a meme, what trend is about to peak, and how to package content in a way people actually want to watch and share. You'll work closely with our creative team to package and publish content effectively, identify growth opportunities, and help build an engaged audience around the show. The role is less about being a full-time editor and more about being the engine behind the social presence: organizing content, publishing strategically, spotting trends early, and helping turn moments into audience growth.ResponsibilitiesSocial Media ManagementManage day-to-day social publishing across platforms including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Facebook, and emerging channels as relevantCoordinate content calendars and publishing schedules to support episodic releases, talent moments, partnerships, and real-time opportunitiesHelp craft the occasional graphic or meme or social copy aligned to the show’s voice and audienceMonitor comments, engagement, and community activity to help grow audience interaction and brand affinityStay on top of platform updates, algorithm changes, and emerging social trendsAudience Growth + Trend RecognitionMonitor social trends, platform behavior, viral formats, sounds, memes, and cultural moments relevant to the showIdentify opportunities to increase audience engagement, reach, and follower growthBring proactive ideas around content packaging, timing, and social-first opportunitiesStay current on evolving platform algorithms and best practicesAnalytics + Performance TrackingTrack and report on content performance, audience growth, engagement, and platform metricsHelp identify what content formats and strategies are resonating most with audiencesUse performance insights to help guide future publishing and content decisionsContent Creation + EditingAssist in developing social-first content concepts alongside creative and editorial teamsPull and package moments quickly for reactive or timely posting opportunitiesSupport light editing and formatting of content for social distributionEnsure content aligns with brand standards, talent approvals, and platform best practicesQualificationsProven experience managing social media accounts for entertainment, sports, talent, media, or creator-driven brandsCandidates should be prepared to share examples of social accounts, campaigns, or channels they have directly managed or helped growStrong understanding of platform-native content and social best practices across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and XStrong eye for pacing, hooks, captions, and what drives engagement sociallyKnowledgeable with social analytics and performance reportingAbility to work quickly, collaboratively, and adapt in a fast-moving production environmentStrong organizational and communication skillsComfortable balancing planned content with reactive, real-time opportunitiesSome experience editing short-form content in Adobe Premiere Pro idealPreferredExperience supporting celebrity, athlete, or entertainment-related social accountsUnderstanding of pop culture, internet culture, and current social trendsExperience working alongside production, creative, or post-production teamsEngagement DetailsFreelance / contract roleApproximately ~20 hours / week for an initial 3-month engagement, with potential for extension based on show needs and channel growth.Hyrid, with some onsite potential collaboration across production schedules and live content opportunitiesIf interested, please include links to social accounts, brands, creators, or shows you have directly managed or supported.
