Tailor

JOB TITLE: Tailor REPORTS TO: General Manager Job Purpose: The Tailor is responsible for performing client fittings and product alterations with the highest level of client service. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Tailor contributes to the overall sales success of the store with their exceptional tailoring skills, knowledge and experience of materials and sewing techniques. Tasks & Responsibilities: Serve as a brand ambassador by expertly presenting garment details and providing personalized styling recommendations during fittings. Work with clients on the sales floor to help to drive sales generation through expert technical knowhow and by instilling confidence. Complete work utilizing expert technical sewing skills, accurately and on time. Communicate expected timelines for all garment repairs and alterations. Provide solutions on potential issues within the Tailor Shop daily with the General Manager; partner with Sales Associates to address and resolve client-related concerns efficiently. Act as a team player by supporting the workload of other members of tailor team as needed. Skills, Competencies & Requirements Excellent technical tailoring skills and knowledge; fitting experience is required – preferably in a high luxury environment. Comprehensive understanding of garment construction, and pattern-making skills. High level of accuracy, attention to detail and reliability. Strong communication skills. Exceptional customer-centric mindset Ability to lift or carry (pushing/pulling) up to 25 pounds (or more). Ability to bend, stoop, reach or squat to handle and stock merchandise Ability to stand or walk for long periods (4-6 hours)
