Senior Fac ade Inspector | Local Law 11Client:This firm is a growing Engineering, Surveying, Architectural & Environmental Consulting firm with offices in NYC and other key cities throughout the US, offering industry expertise and service in the areas of surveying, civil engineering, land planning, structure design and aquatic resources. The NYC office offers industry expertise and services in areas of Fac ade Restoration, Local Law 11 (FISP), Structural Engineering, License Agreement Review, Property Condition Assessments, and Building Enclosure Evaluations.Description:Qualified individuals will be involved with the assessment of buildings and facades, participate in designing restoration, remediation, addition, and alteration plans, creating engineering construction/permit documents. The individual will review the ongoing work of contractors and staff for the completion of project activities (field and office) and prepare summary documentation (reports, correspondence, verbal communication) for Project Manager review. PE License desired but not requiredQualifications:· 8+ years of experience in construction, forensic investigations and/or engineering as it relates to building enclosures and construction projects; ability to manage/mentor; licensed PE· Ability to perform building assessments, both interior and exterior to evaluate existing conditions of building facades, roofs, and structural systems· Assist with building envelope testing and structural framing conditions (concrete/masonry sounding, water intrusion tests, etc.) to determine structural and fac ade characteristics/deficiencies· Preparation of work plans, project specifications, building documents, cost estimates and related submissions corresponding to city requirements for permitting· Measure characteristics of the building using specialized equipment including tape measure, laser distance tool, and field instrumentation to establish the condition of structural framing and fac ade elements.· Create engineering construction and permit documents in accordance with city, client and company specs· Understand fac ade deficiencies and be able to assess the material characteristics and suitability for use in building construction or in other applications.· Familiar with Local Law 11/98 (FISP) requirements, perform scaffold drop inspections, fire escape inspections, balcony inspections, etc. with understanding on types of deficiencies to be noted and reported.· MUST be familiar with local NYC building codes· Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, BlueBeam, MS Office Suite, etc.Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Construction Management.To Apply:If you have the knowledge, skills, and experience for this role, please attach your resume using our email at .
