Quality Manager (Hybrid) Job Summary:We are seeking a dedicated and talented Quality Manager to join our team. In this role, you will lead and execute the company’s end-to-end Quality strategy, ensuring product integrity, regulatory compliance, supplier performance, retailer chargebacks, and launch readiness across formulas, components, and finished goods. This position is responsible for implementing scalable quality systems that support growth, operational excellence, and brand trust while balancing speed-to-market and risk management.As a member of the Operations team, you will collaborate with Product Development, Packaging, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Warehousing, Retailers, and external manufacturing partners and report directly to the Executive Director of Supply Chain.HYBRID: This role is classified as exempt from the Fair Labor Standard Act’s overtime requirement and is open to candidates based in the United States. While the position is primarily remote, it follows a hybrid schedule requiring occasional in-person work at Culver City, CA 90230. The role requires working in PST hours, so candidates located on the West Coast are preferred. A reliable internet connection and a dedicated workspace free from significant distractions are essential for remote work.This role also requires up to 50% local travel within the assigned region to support vendor site visits, contract manufacturing partners, quality inspections, and operational meetings. What You’ll Do: Essential Job Functions Lead implementation and continuous improvement of the company’s Quality Management System (QMS).Create & Maintain brand’s Quality Manual and ensure compliance adhereance to policies.Support development of the company’s Quality vision, operating model, and roadmap in partnership with executive leadership.Establish and maintain scalable, risk-based quality frameworks aligned with business growth and product category expansion.Serve as the primary authority for quality release decisions, risk assessments, deviations, and exception management.Own quality governance across the New Product Introduction (NPI) lifecycle to ensure launch readiness and compliance.Understand BOM, formula, artwork, packaging, and technical specification change control processes.Ensure all products meet internal standards, retailer requirements, customer expectations, and regulatory compliance standards.Manage Retailer non-compliance chargebacks as it relates to non-conformity products.Personally perform and document incoming quality inspections for production lots, including finished goods, components, packaging, labeling, and overall SKU conformance.Verify production output against approved specifications, standards, range boards, and regulatory requirements.Identify, investigate, and escalate quality defects, trends, deviations, and non-conformances requiring corrective action or containment.Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA), and complaint management programs.Maintain audit-ready documentation and traceability within ERP and Quality systems.Act as the senior Quality partner for Contract Manufacturers, suppliers, and external vendors.Manage vendor quality scorecards, supplier performance metrics, and ongoing quality evaluations.Lead supplier audits and oversee CAPA implementation and closure activities.Establish and track Quality KPIs, dashboards, and reporting metrics for leadership review.Participate in executive forums, critical incident response, and cross-functional risk assessments.Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, defect reduction, and process optimization.Ability to travel up to 50% locally to support vendor site visits, contract manufacturing partners, audits, inspections, and cross-functional operational needs.Maintain regular attendance and availability to support business operations.Other duties may be assigned.Non-Essential Job FunctionsAssist with special projects or initiatives as needed to support departmental goals.Provide backup coverage for team members during absences or peak workload periods.Perform additional administrative tasks or clerical duties as assigned.Support cross-departmental efforts or collaborative initiatives when required. Reasonable accommodations can be made to support individuals with disabilities in performing essential functions.6+ years of progressive Quality experience within beauty, cosmetics, or personal care industries required.College degree in a related field preferred, but not requiredExperience managing Quality systems, supplier quality programs, and contract manufacturing relationships preferred.Strong understanding of GMPs, regulatory compliance, product testing, and quality assurance methodologies.Experience leading Root Cause Analysis (RCA), CAPA programs, and audit management processes.Strong knowledge of incoming inspections, lot release processes, and quality documentation requirements.Experience working within fast-paced, high-growth environments preferred.Experience creating and improving work flows.Strong communication, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills.Proficiency in ERP systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and quality documentation systems preferred.Experience developing KPIs, dashboards, and executive-level reporting preferred.Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.Experience supporting new product launches and commercialization activities is a plus.
