Utility Technician II - Lift Station Operation & Maint

OverviewThe Utility Technicians are responsible for the maintenance and operation of the water distribution system and wastewater collection system. Employees must remain in compliance with TCEQ and other applicable laws and regulations while working within the scope of their position.Responsibilities• Installs, repairs, and maintains water mains, valves, fire hydrants, wastewater gravity and force mains, manholes, and services• Operates excavator, crew truck, dump truck, Vactor truck, crane, tapping machines, water pumps, and power saws• Oversees traffic control setup and manages well point systems and bypass pumps• Performs confined space work while ensuring compliance with safety and trenching standards• Monitors job sites to maintain a safe environment for workers and the public• Logs time, materials, equipment, and work performed In the Enterprise Asset Management System• Provides customer service while performing responsibilities• Installs large-volume commercial and residential water meters at service connections• Installs programs, and maintains AMR components; performs service turn-ons/turn-offs for residential, commercial, and industrial customers• Investigates and resolves issues within water distribution and wastewater collection systems• Accurately logs labor, materials, equipment, and work activities in the Enterprise Asset Management System• Delivers professional customer service while performing duties and supports additional assignments as neededPosition Type and Typical Hours of Work• Non-Exempt - Full-Time - 40-hour work week• Must be available to work additional hours as needed• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement• In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the public, including the delivery and restoration of vital servicesThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this job.
