Job OverviewFull-time/Part-time/PRN Cardiac Surgery Advanced Practitioner (PA/NP) – Danbury, Connecticut (60 miles from New York)Danbury Hospital is seeking a full-time Cardiac Surgery Advanced Practitioner (Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner) for a role that includes ICU, step down coverage, hospital consults, OR and some office for our 24/7 service. We are located in Danbury, Connecticut, about 60 miles northeast of New York City in suburban Fairfield County. Generous $40K sign‑on and retention package offered.The ideal candidate will be a board‑certified PA/NP and/or RNFA certified with previous experience in Cardiac Surgery ICU patient management and procedures. The position offers flexible scheduling, which can include rotating day and night shift coverage as well as OR time, depending on candidate’s skillset. The department has two Cardiac surgeons and five Cardiac Surgery PAs. This is a seasoned team with a growing case volume that includes traditional open heart, CABG, valve, MIS, and TAVR.QualificationsGraduate of an approved Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) training programCT State PA/NP license, State of CT Controlled Substance Registration, and Federal DEAPrevious experience in Cardiothoracic ICUPrevious experience in Cardiac Surgery OR [vein harvest, first assist] preferable but not requiredBoard certificationACLS & BLS certificationMust maintain 50 CME's over two yearsStrong interpersonal and communication skillsHospital OverviewEstablished in 1885, Danbury Hospital is a not-for-profit community hospital providing Greater Danbury area residents convenient access to exceptional care.
