Construction Worker
Position Summary
The Construction General Worker supports daily construction, renovation, and maintenance operations across Uptimize's portfolio under the direction of the Construction Superintendent. This is a hands-on, physical role focused on task execution, site preparation, material handling, and general labor support. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, willing to learn, and takes pride in doing quality work — regardless of the task in front of them.
Core Responsibilities
Perform general labor tasks as assigned, including demolition prep, debris removal, material staging, and site cleanup
Assist skilled tradespeople with tasks as directed — running materials, staging tools, and providing support as needed
Load, unload, and transport materials and equipment safely on and around job sites
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment throughout the project duration
Follow all OSHA safety standards and company safety protocols at all times
Operate basic hand and power tools safely and correctly
Report any site hazards, damage, or safety concerns to the Superintendent immediately
Complete assigned tasks thoroughly and in a timely manner without requiring repeated direction
Support unit turns, common area refreshes, and other property improvement work as needed
Perform other duties as assigned by the Construction Superintendent or site leadership
Experience
Prior construction, trades, or general labor experience preferred — entry-level candidates with the right work ethic will be considered
Ability to perform physically demanding work: lifting up to 50 lbs., standing, kneeling, and working in varying weather conditions
Basic knowledge of hand and power tools
Reliable transportation and consistent attendance — this role requires showing up ready to work
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately
Strong situational awareness and commitment to job site safety
OSHA 10 certification a plus (or willingness to obtain)
Valid driver's license preferred
What We're Looking For
We want someone who shows up, works hard, and takes ownership of whatever task they're handed. You don't need to know everything — but you need to be coachable, reliable, and ready to get your hands dirty. The people who do well in this role pay attention, ask good questions, take care of the job site like it's their own, and do the same quality work whether someone's watching or not. There's real room to grow here for the right person.
