This position supports student access to the curriculum, promotes independence, and contributes to academic and social-emotional growth.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide direct, one-on-one support to an assigned student throughout the school dayAssist in implementing Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals, accommodations, and behavior plansCollaborate with the Middle School Principal, teachers, and staff to provide academic assistance and student supportSupport student learning by:Clarifying instructional contentReinforcing study skillsReviewing and discussing classroom materialsAssisting with problem-solving and assignmentsPromoting independent learning and self-relianceMonitor and support student behavior in accordance with established plansDocument student performance, progress, and daily attendanceMaintain a safe and supportive learning environment, including supervision during transitions and non-instructional timesAssist with personal care needs if requiredMeet regularly with teachers and staff to coordinate instructional strategies and student supportsMaintain confidentiality of student and staff informationPerform other duties as assigned QualificationsEducator License with Stipulations (ELS) endorsed as a Paraprofessional Educator (PARA) requiredMinimum of 60 semester hours of credit from a regionally accredited institution (excluding remedial coursework)Paraprofessional experience working with students (Pre-K through age 21 preferred)Demonstrated ability to implement varied instructional strategiesExperience working with low-income and/or minority student populations preferredAbility to:Work effectively with administrators, staff, parents, and the communityCommunicate clearly and professionally (oral and written)Follow oral and written directionsWork independently and collaborativelyMaintain confidentiality and professionalism Physical RequirementsAbility to lift, move, or assist students as neededAbility to stand, walk, and actively supervise for extended periodsAbility to respond quickly in emergency situations Compensation & BenefitsSalary range $21,832 - $35,442Medical, dental, and vision insurance (if applicable per hours worked)Paid sick days and personal daysAdditional benefits per union agreement Application RequirementsTo be considered for this position, applicants must complete an online application and include:Cover letter and resumeCompleted applicationCopies of college/university transcriptsThree letters of referenceCompletion of criminal background checkApply online at: https://www.applitrack.com/sd132/OnlineApp/default.aspxEqual Employment Opportunity (EEO) Statement
