Job Summary: This role supports daily production in a fast-paced, safety-driven environment. This role is responsible for handling and preparing revert (recycled metal), assisting furnace operations, and performing basic equipment tasks. All training is provided. This is an excellent opportunity to gain foundational manufacturing experience with long-term growth potential. What You'll Be Doing: You will be inspecting, cleaning, sorting, resizing, and weighing recycled metals “revert” to prepare for the melting process Operate basic equipment (grinders, analyzers, cut-off saws) after training Record weights, batch data, and traceability information Organize, stage, label, and prepare materials for furnace charging Assist furnace operators by safely delivering charge materials Safely operate cranes, hoists, and forklifts (training provided) Follow SOPs, work instructions, and safety requirements Maintain clean, organized work areas and support 5S standards Communicate effectively to support production flow and problem-solving QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to learn industrial equipment Ability to read/follow written instructions and safety procedures Basic math skills for weighing and measuring Strong attention to detail and reliability Basic Computer skills are needed. Ability to work independently or in a team environment Forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain within 90 days Ability to work overtime and work on-site in Chittenango, NY Apply today and start your career with SMM!
