Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.Tasks and Qualifications:What you will do in this role: Travel: Approximately 25%Lead and coordinate Dematic North America’s racking and structural engineering initiativesSupport all phases of projects including concept development, structural design, engineering, installation, and commissioningDevelop and review structural designs at both system and component levels, ensuring safe operation, code compliance, and sustainabilityPerform and oversee structural analysis, steel design, and connection designCreate and review 3D models, drawings, and technical documentationManage structural engineering budgets and design schedules for assigned projects; communicate status to project teams and managementSupport internal product development, including design validation and testingPartner with the Sales team to develop and review racking and structural design conceptsLiaise closely with manufacturing, purchasing, quality, safety, site managers, subcontractors, and customers to ensure successful project executionSupport technical and concept reviews and ensure adherence to Dematic’s engineering processes and standardsProvide technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring to other engineersRack and Steel Structure DesignIndustrial steel storage racks and ASRS structuresStructural steel and cold‑formed steel designConnections and rolled cold‑formed sectionsCodes & Standards (familiarity required)AISC LRFD Specification for Structural Steel BuildingsAISI Specification for Cold‑Formed Steel DesignRMI Specification for Industrial Steel Storage RacksFEM 9.831 / 9.832US Seismic Design StandardsLocal, State, and US Building CodesKnowledge of broader North American standards is a plusSoftware ToolsAutoCADRISA 2D/3D or equivalent structural analysis softwareTekla Structures (or willingness to learn)Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)What we are looking for: B.S. in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (Structural emphasis preferred); advanced degree a plusProfessional Engineer (PE) license required8+ years of progressive experience in structural engineering, preferably within the material handling or industrial steel structures industryDemonstrated ability to solve high-impact, complex, and cross-functional engineering problemsStrong analytical skills with a high degree of integrity and attention to detailHighly organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple prioritiesStrong interpersonal and communication skills with confidence to engage at all organizational levelsDemonstrated leadership capability, including mentoring and supporting professional staffApplicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
