We’re looking for a reliable, detail-oriented individual to join our team and help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors.Location: Anacortes, WA / OnsiteSchedule: Full Time / DaysSalary Range: $24.52 – $36.43 per hourShift Differentials:Night Differential - $2.25Evening Differential - $1.65Weekend Differential - $1.50For Information on Employee Benefits and SEIU ContractResponsible for the collection and preparation of information required for patient registration at Island Hospital. Insures authorization for surgical and inpatient admissions is obtained. Communicate with patients regarding esti. ed charges and set up appropriate payment plans. Assists physician offices as needed to obtain necessary billing information.What You Will Be DoingObtains specific information from patients, such as age, insurance coverage, and/or financial information required.Obtains necessary signatures on proper forms, including Advanced Beneficiary Notices (ABN).Gives general information about outpatient care and answers telephones.Order Diagnostic tests and exams into the Meditech system, including entering diagnosis/ICD10 code and obtaining signed ABN’s when necessary.Patient financial clearance including assisting patients through the WA Health Plan Finder for insurance or state assistance. Assists patients, as needed, to initiate the Charity Care request process, internal banking options and payment arrangements.Receive scheduled appointments for pre-surgical requirements/ scheduled needed appointments.Obtain referrals/authorization for upcoming procedures, verify insurance coverage’s, prepare and send patients estimate letters, phone quotes. Follows up on sent estimates, collects payment.Follow through with denial of insurance payments w/Patient Accounts, Care Management and insurance companies.Correct patient accounts, reports, to be ready for proper billing.Work directly with physicians’ offices to prepare and obtain essential information to assist in the financial clearance & billing processes.Research insurance coverage option for physicians and billing needs.Sends Inpatient Notification and Clinical Documentation to required payors.Must have demonstrated ability to interact positively with Administration, Directors, Managers, Supervisors, peers, co-workers, subordinates, patients and visitors.Must meet regular attendance standards and must stay at or below unscheduled absence levels.Must maintain WA Health Plan Finder in Person Assister/Navigator certification annually.Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and can identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific.What At You Will Bring To The RoleHS Diploma or GED Preferred.Over 6 months’ experience as office receptionist.Medical skills/ experience may substitute for office experience.Must be able to type/keyboard 60 wpm, use a ten key calculator by touch.Experience with CPT, ICD10 coding and medical terminology preferred.Must have valid WA State Drivers license.Possesses knowledge of Continuous Quality Improvement principles and supports the hospital's philosophy of performance improvement.
