Software Engineer

The rules surrounding animal health and movement are complex and ever-changing. Our platform allows veterinarians, diagnostic labs, feed producers, and regulatory agencies to focus on animal welfare rather than tracking down rules and regulations.Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines (ETL/ELT) and data architectures to support data availability and analytics.Develop and optimize data models to support data-driven decision-making and reporting.Integrate Agentic AI and analytics tools to enhance data processing, predictive modeling, or automated data insights.Collaborate with engineering, product, and business teams to translate data requirements into robust technical solutions.Implement data quality frameworks and monitor pipeline performance, ensuring accuracy and scalability.Participate in code reviews focusing on data engineering best practices, performance, and maintainability.Infrastructure Optimization: Evaluate and deploy cloud computing services (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and big data tools (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop, Kafka) to scale performance and manage costs.Collaboration & Support: Partner with data scientists, analysts, and product managers to understand business needs and build tools that support machine learning and analytics.Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.2-5 years of professional experience in data engineering or backend development.Proficiency in Java development.Solid understanding of modern data architectures (e.g., data lakes, warehouses).Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT processes and data modeling.Experience integrating Agentic AI or advanced analytics into data workflows.Strong SQL proficiency and experience with database technologies.Experience with professional software engineering best practices (testing, CI/CD, version control).Excellent problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.Experience working in an agile environment.Salary & Benefits For this position, we're offering a competitive salary and a great working environment in a supportive and success-driven company and a range of benefits, including paid time off, paid volunteer days, 401k, & work-life balance.Medical, Dental & Vision coverage401kEducational AssistanceLife InsuranceEmployee Assistance Programs & Work/Life SolutionsPaid Time OffVolunteer Time Off
