FTE:1.0 _, Shift: varies_, Schedule: variable_ For more information, contact Position Summary The Neurosurgeon is a key leader within the Neuroscience Institute, delivering advanced surgical care for patients with complex neurological disorders. This role integrates operative expertise with high-acuity inpatient management and outpatient continuity, supporting a broad range of neurosurgical conditions including cranial, spinal, peripheral nerve, and functional disorders.The Neurosurgeon collaborates with interdisciplinary teams-including neurology, radiology, critical care, and rehabilitation-to ensure evidence-based, patient-centered care. This position offers opportunities to contribute to institutional growth through innovation, education, and participation in multidisciplinary case reviews, quality initiatives, and clinical research.Responsibilities Evaluate and manage patients with neurosurgical conditions through outpatient clinic, hospital consultation, and pre-operative planning Perform surgical interventions including cranial, spinal, and peripheral nerve procedures Provide perioperative management and post-operative care with inpatient rounding and coordination Interpret diagnostic studies such as CT, MRI, and neuroangiography to support surgical planning Collaborate with specialists in neurology, oncology, trauma, and critical care for comprehensive patient management Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery expectations, and ongoing management strategies Participate in academic conferences, multidisciplinary team meetings, and protocol development Accurately document clinical encounters and maintain compliance with institutional, regulatory, and payer standards Requirements Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) from an accredited institution Completion of neurosurgery residency Board certified or board eligible in Neurosurgery Licensed or eligible for medical licensure in Washington State by employment start date DEA registration, NPI number, and prescriptive authority BLS certification for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association Strong commitment to team-based care, continuous learning, and clinical excellence Why MultiCare Neuroscience Institute? Pay and Benefit Expectations We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $900,000.00 - $900,000.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
