Construction Intern - Summer 2026

We have opportunities at our various Divisions located throughout the Southeast.Position Summary:To assist the Construction Manager in the completion of homes to the highest standards of quality, efficiency, cost control, and customer satisfaction.What You'll Do:.Oversee community in Construction Manager's absencePerform routine production activities (minor repair and replacement installations)Meet with and sign off on deliveries of materials when neededWater lawns (seasonal)Attend Quality Assurance walk and manage any follow up activitiesAssist with Homeowner Orientation Sign offKeep all drive barricades in place, unlock and lock homes dailyMonitor community to review and enforce safety regulationsInstall water meter location cardsOversee building and painting of permit boardsPost building permit cardsAdjust/clean out water meter boxes so municipality will set metersEnsure job site cleanlinessAttend and perform inspectionsEducation:We're looking for students currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management with an interest in residential construction.We are an equal employment opportunity employer and a certified Drug Free Workplace.About Smith Douglas Homes:New home builder, Smith Douglas was recently recognized by Builder Magazine as the 32nd largest builder in the Builder Top 100 Rankings.
