Teacher Aide

Description & Details:The primary roles of a Teacher Aide include:* To assist the teachers in providing a warm and nurturing environment in which each child can grow in all developmental areas* Promote home/center relations and a partnership with families and the community* Assist in the supervision and education of university students participating in the Center for Child Development* Support an organizational climate that fosters trust, collaboration, and inclusion* Assist with kitchen duties, such as baking, serving food portions, and sanitization of equipment, following the USDA Child and Adult Care Food program requirements* Work safelyWork Schedule:Monday-Friday 8:30-5:30 (may change based on Center's needs)Hiring Range:$31,000-$36,000/year, depending on experience and qualificationsPay is based on several factors, including budget, labor market, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and/or certification and other business considerations.Minimum Qualifications:* High school diploma or GED and a minimum of three years of experience working with children 6 weeks-5 years of age; or two years of college and experience working with children 6 weeks-5 years of age OR two years of college and experience working with children 6 weeks-5 years of age.* Excellent interpersonal communication skills* Organized and flexible* Takes initiativePreferred Qualifications: Core Competencies:* Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related fieldOR Child Development Associate credentialCore Competencies:Excellent interpersonal communication skillsOrganized and detailed-orientedTakes initiativeOperation of kitchen appliances, washer/dryer, and sanitizerKnowledge of Microsoft office and emailCustomer-oriented to best meet the needs of children, parents, university students, and community guestsApplicant Materials Required:Resume and Cover LetterOur commitment to caring for our employees isn't just words-it's proven.
