Salary: $31.81/hour base pay + $5.09/hour Health and Welfare Benefit (total: $36.90/hour)
Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 6:00 AM-4:00 PM

Position Summary
TTI is seeking an Engineering Technician V to provide technical and field support at the Desert Southwest (DSW) Office in Phoenix, Arizona. This position supports G5200 and assigned operational needs across preventive maintenance, system design, construction support, compliance, equipment testing, technical maintenance file management, asset tagging and equipment tracking, substation warehouse inventory, field logistics, and coordination for substation facilities.
Responsibilities include researching design data and specifications; developing and supporting designs, standards, and project schedules for substation facilities; maintaining accurate technical and equipment records; and coordinating work at manned and unmanned substations. Experience with technical documentation, substation or high-voltage systems, Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), equipment tracking, inventory control, and field coordination is required.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering and Technical Support
Initiate, review, monitor, and determine the disposition of technical maintenance files, including correspondence, manuals, design records, and other technical data.
Research and analyze design data, specifications, and project documents to ensure technical requirements, policies, and system standards are met; recommend facility additions or modifications as appropriate.
Develop and support designs, standards, and project schedules for substation facilities; assist with project closeout activities.
Support engineers and craft employees in developing, tracking, and completing reports or studies related to equipment enhancements, maintenance practices, and facility improvements.
Review and maintain equipment data and test sheets; verify the accuracy and completeness of technical records.
Asset Management, Inventory, and Logistics
Physically identify, label, asset-tag, and register substation equipment and components to support compliance, accountability, and accurate equipment tracking.
Conduct physical inventory audits of substation warehouse stock, including coordination of monthly audits at both manned and unmanned substations; verify stock levels, reconcile discrepancies, and help prevent material shortages.
Coordinate and execute logistics and physical delivery of critical parts, including transporting assets and license agreements to field locations and substations.
Maintain accurate asset, inventory, and equipment data in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and other applicable tracking systems.
Field and Program Support
Travel to substations and field sites to obtain field information, verify equipment and site conditions, support inventory activities, and attend field meetings.
Perform work in outdoor elements as needed and travel via Government (GOVT) vehicle, including overnight stays when required.
Support additional technical and program responsibilities as directed to meet mission needs and evolving team requirements.
Required Qualifications
Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Minimum three (3) years of progressive development in the power industry.
Knowledge of substation operations, distribution design principles, Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping tools, Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) methodology, and asset or inventory tracking processes.
Experience reviewing technical documentation, maintaining equipment records, and supporting engineering or maintenance activities in substation or high-voltage environments.
Ability to create reports using database tools and query languages.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior Western Area Power Administration (WAPA), U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), or federal utility experience.
Familiarity with CMMS platforms and asset or inventory tracking systems.
Hands-on knowledge of substation and high-voltage transmission system testing equipment.
Experience with warehouse inventory audits, equipment asset tagging, field logistics, or delivery coordination.
Experience training or mentoring craft employees and apprentices in technical processes.
Physical & Other Requirements
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in outdoor elements as needed to obtain field information or attend field meetings.
Ability and willingness to travel to manned and unmanned substations and other field locations via Government (GOVT) vehicle, with overnight stays as required.
