Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering/Management, or related field.
2–5 years (or more, depending on level) of experience in construction, engineering, or project coordination — preferably in commercial real‑estate, mixed‑use, or multifamily development.
Experience working on projects from ground‑up or major renovation scopes preferred.
Familiarity with construction means, methods, scheduling tools, cost tracking, subcontractor coordination, and on‑site engineering.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong technical aptitude — able to review drawings, specifications, submittals, shop drawings; understand structural, mechanical, electrical, and architectural systems.
Excellent communication skills — coordinate with design teams, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
Solid organizational and time‑management skills — manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, BIM360, MS Project, Primavera) and MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Problem‑solving mindset — identify issues proactively, propose solutions, and follow through to resolution.
Detail‑oriented mindset — ensure quality, safety, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Willingness to spend time on job sites — walk active construction sites, interface with field staff, understand conditions, and support site operations.
Ability to travel between project locations as required and flexibility to work occasional extended hours.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent in planning, coordinating, and executing project work scopes.
Review drawings, RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, change orders and coordinate with design and construction teams to maintain project alignment.
Monitor project schedules, cost-to-complete, budgets, contingencies and report on progress, risks, and opportunities.
Attend site meetings, coordinate subcontractor activities, track deliverables, and support field operations to meet schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
Support procurement — compile vendor data, review proposals, coordinate with purchasing/team members to ensure timely delivery of long‑lead items and equipment.
Maintain accurate project documentation: daily logs, meeting minutes, field reports, safety records, submittal logs, RFI logs, change‑order logs, etc.
Assist in risk management efforts: identify potential project risks (schedule, cost, quality, safety), recommend mitigation actions, and monitor implementation.
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, contract requirements, and applicable codes/regulations.
Support continuous improvement: suggest process enhancements and lessons learned from ongoing project work to refine workflows and drive efficiency.
