Receiving Supervisor

Leads day-to-day operational activities pertaining to the Receiving Department. Ensures material is verified, received, and stocked. Effectively delegate's workload to department leads and personnel. All while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.Ready to apply Before you do, make sure to read all the details pertaining to this job in the description below.Essential ResponsibilitiesIn addition to the Responsibilities of "Fittings/Flanges Receiving Supervisor": Ensure all department equipment is in proper working condition (forklifts, pickers, crane, hand tools, etc.)Effectively communicates with department supervisors and upper management. Utilizes email to communicate with Receiving, Front Office, and Sales Departments.Manages Daily operational reports to identify workload and utilize OT as needed.Coordinates with Sales on any request, priority levels, and any issues that may arise.Coordinates with Sales/Imports on inbound shipments (flatbeds, Motor freight, hot shots, etc.).Process and handles inbound shipments by effectively communicating with Sales, Department Supervisors, and QC.Supports Inbound traffic by efficiently unloading material in a timely manner.Effectively trains personnel on company processes and procedures, submits training records, and identifies areas that need additional training. Attends production meetings to identify departmental issues and discuss ways to correct them.Identifies areas of improvement while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.Manages receiving personnel on unloading, sorting, verification, and stocking processes.Effectively organizes and manages a team of 7 to 10 employees.Duties are not limited to those described above and may be expanded as neededInformation and Activities Critical to Process QualityMaterial Verification and Documentation: Visual Inspection Heat number(s) of each line item written on the Vessel paperworkMarking on the material matches what is written on the receiving paperworkVessel Advance is properly filled outEnsure information on the material matches what was to arriveEnsure the correct quantities are received Coordinates with imports: Quantity discrepancies on incoming material Container and Truckloads: Ensure vehicles are correctly unloaded in a timely mannerVisual verification of all bundles unloadedReceiving Department: Ensure area is organized and clear for forklift trafficAll incoming material is placed in the correct lanes for stockingDaily Checks for incoming material scheduledDepartment ResponsibilitiesQMS: Train on Department Work Instructions & Job ScopeTrain on Quality Policy and Department ProcessesProcess FlowConduct meetings and submit training recordsQuarterly competency reviews on personnelEffectively identify areas that need additional trainingSafety: Hold brief daily safety meetings with department personnelMaintain clear aisle ways and organize racks and dock space Maintain equipment checklistsQuarterly maintenance on equipment (hand tools, pickers, forklifts, etc.)Enforces and monitors "Lock-out/Tag-out" protocolCommunicates equipment breakdowns and safety hazards to upper management and HSEOngoing responsibility of creating and implementing a safe work environmentQualificationsSpeak and read English. Bilingual Spanish preferred3+ years PVF industry experience Ability to read and understand industry specifications, charts, and tablesHigh school diploma or GEDBasic computer skills. Experience with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred. xhyhwjd Must have average reading, writing, and mathematical skills.Capable of lifting 50 lbs.
