Project Engineer
Responsibilities:Specify equipment for production unit, including, but not limited to: boilers, compressors, heat exchangers, generators, cooling towers, acid towers, precipitators, converters, furnaces, tanks, and pumps.Perform hydraulic calculations.Size project components (e.g. piping, ducting, valves, pumps, etc.)Perform heat transfer calculations.Create specification sheets for equipment for use in capital project procurement.Develop PFDs and P&IDs for new or modified operations.Work with Controls Engineer to operational and functional statements.Manage, schedule, and coordinate all assigned capital projects.Develop, justify, and submit project scopes and cost estimates.Develop and submit capital project requisition requests.Manage project budgets forecasting and tracking project costs.Manage projects in the field during construction (including turnarounds).Maintain document control of all project files throughout project duration.Ensure project compliance with applicable codes, laws, policies, and technical specifications.Qualifications:Must have Bachelor of Science in Mechanical (preferred) or Chemical Engineering.Min of 5 plus years of relevant industry experience.Must have excellent written and oral communications skills.Must be able to analyze, troubleshoot, and solve problems.Must have experience in using and developing engineering spreadsheets/calculations.Must have proficient multi-tasking skills.Must be organized, systematic, independent, and self-motivated.Must possess knowledge or willingness to learn basic project management processes.Prefer knowledge of AutoCAD and/or applicable chemical process simulation software.Prefer knowledge of local and state laws and applicable OSHA standards.Currently Active TWIC Card.
