The Compliance Consultant helps clients - including employers, brokers, TPAs and PBMs - navigate and interpret federal and state regulatory requirements for employer-sponsored benefit plans (e.g., medical, dental, vision, and life).Our compliance professionals stay current on evolving regulations and translate complex rules into practical, actionable guidance. We specialize in compliance requirements for employer-sponsored benefits under ERISA, COBRA, ACA, §125, MHPAEA, HIPAA and related federal and state requirements.This is a remote position with occasional travel for client trainings, conferences, or team meetings. If you excel at solving complex benefit compliance challenges and communicating clearly to diverse audiences, we'd love to hear from you.Duties and Responsibilities:Build productive, trusted relationships with clients nationwideProvide expert health & welfare benefits compliance guidanceHandle 12-15 compliance questions daily via our helpline (via phone or email), ensuring a consistent 24-hour turnaroundDevelop and present webinars, live trainings and seminars monthCompose timely compliance articles on a bi-weekly basisDevelop content for compliance-related tools and resourcesMonitor legislation, regulations, and guidance to stay ahead of industry changesServe as an internal subject matter expert and support product developmentMentor and coach colleagues to strengthen team expertise and capacityCollaborate to improve team workflows, processes, and client-facing deliverablesTravel occasionally for client presentations, conferences, or internal team events (estimated approximately 2-3 times per year)Requirements and Desired Qualifications2-5 years of experience in employee benefits compliance; JD preferredKnowledge of ERISA, COBRA, ACA, §125, MHPAEA, HIPAA and related rulesAbility to distill complex federal and state regulatory information into clear written and verbal guidanceStrong consulting, analytical and business acumenExceptional communication and presentation skillsDemonstrated customer-service orientationAbility to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environmentExperience with compliance research tools (e.g., Thomson Reuter's EBIA Checkpoint Library & Westlaw Advantage)Work Environment:This position is a remote position within approved Lumelight states. This job operates in a professional office environment, whether in person or remotely. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers.
