Apply now to make a difference!Position SummarySony Honda Mobility of America is seeking an Expense Governance & Corporate CardLead toestablishand own the company's end-to-end employee expense and corporate card governance framework.This is not a transactional processing role. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously enhancing scalable expense reimbursement processes and corporate card controls that support a rapidly growing organization.You will serve as the primary owner of expense governance across SHMA, balancing strong internal controls with operational efficiency. You will operate onsite at our Culver City headquarters and partner closely with Finance, Accounting, HR, Legal, and business leaders to strengthen financial discipline, audit readiness, and responsible spend management as SHMA scales.The ideal candidate is structured, analytical, and comfortable building frameworks in a fast-evolving, startup-style environment.Job ResponsibilitiesExpense Governance & Process OwnershipOwn and continuously improve SHMA's end-to-end employee expense reimbursement and corporate card processesDesign scalable governance frameworks, review standards, and formal policy documentationEnsure compliance with pre-approval requirements and documented business purpose standardsAnalyze spend trends and provide actionable insights to Finance leadershipEstablish monitoring controls that support compliant and responsible employee spendingCorporate Card & Spend OversightLead corporate card program governance, transaction monitoring, and lifecycle managementImplement controls to prevent duplicate or inappropriate spend such as card versus AP invoice duplicationOversee reconciliation coordination, accrual support, and spend transparencyMonitor cardholder compliance and usage patterns to identify risk areasSystems & Data IntegrityMaintain expense types and accounting mappings within the ERP systemEnsure alignment between expense categories, financial codes, and reporting structuresSafeguard data accuracy to support audit readiness and reliable management reportingPartner with Finance Systems and Accounting to enhance reporting clarity and system configurationInternal Controls & Cross-Functional LeadershipStrengthen the internal control environment related to employee spendingIdentify control gaps and implement mitigation strategiesPartner cross-functionally with Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Tax, HR, and business stakeholdersSupport audit requests and tax-sensitive expense classification reviewsEnsure expense governance aligns with evolving regulatory and compliance requirementsOrganizational Contribution & Growth SupportContribute to broader Finance and Accounting initiatives as neededSupport reporting enhancements and process improvementsParticipate in special projects as SHMA scales and operational complexity increasesRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field5+ years of experience in expense operations, accounts payable, operational accounting, or spend governanceStrong understanding of internal controls and governance principlesSolid accounting knowledge including expense classification, accruals, and GL impactExperience operating in fast-paced, high-growth environmentsStrong analytical and stakeholder management skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience with ERP-based expense systems such as OracleERP implementation or go-live experienceExperience administering corporate credit card programsExperience establishing or redesigning expense policiesBackground in audit, SOX compliance, or structured control environmentsWork Arrangement: Fully on-site at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, CATravel Requirements: Minimal.Visa Sponsorship: Not available for this positionFlexible Working PolicyPaid parental leave401k Program"Take What You Need" time off policy, with a minimum of 15 days off per year, and holiday breaksYearly bonuses (subject to eligibility)Company phone (subject to eligibility)Company swagA brand new laptop and monitorSpecial discounts on Sony productsLearning and Development quarterly stipendMore to come!The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $95,000-$105,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for.
