OverviewContract Duration: 6 months+ | Location: Preference for someone local to Tampa Bay, open to remote in US | Pay: $65-80/hr W2 DOE | No 3rd partiesOur manufacturing client is hiring a Data Lake Consultant to reconcile Data Lake data back to Oracle EBS, validating completeness and accuracy of financial and transactional datasets, identifying and cleansing inaccurate or incomplete data, documenting discrepancies, and supporting data integrity improvements during the Databricks lift-and-shift upgrade.This is a hands-on role requiring a strong blend of accounting knowledge, analytical skill, and technical capability.Project ScopeReconciliationReconcile data within the company\'s Data Lake back to corresponding records in Oracle EBS, ensuring completeness and accuracy across financial data setsBuild on the existing reconciliation framework already established for sales data and apply it to remaining data areasIdentify, investigate, and document discrepancies between the Data Lake and Oracle EBSWork collaboratively with the existing consultant and internal Finance and IT teams to resolve reconciling items and document findingsData CleansingIdentify inaccurate, incomplete, or duplicate records within the Data Lake surfaced through the reconciliation processCorrect or flag problematic data in accordance with agreed-upon data quality standardsDocument all changes made and the rationale behind them to maintain a clear audit trailProvide recommendations for preventing recurrence of data quality issuesDocumentation & HandoffMaintain thorough documentation of reconciliation results, data issues found, and resolutions appliedDeliver a final summary of work completed, outstanding items, and recommendations for ongoing data governanceRequired QualificationsStrong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting - ability to understand what the data represents and how it should reconcileProven experience working with ERP systems, with direct experience in Oracle EBS strongly preferredHands-on experience working with Data Lakes and large structured data setsProficiency in Databricks for data exploration and analysisStrong SQL skills for querying, comparing, and validating data setsAdvanced Excel capability, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and reconciliation workbooksStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detailAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with an existing consultant and internal teamsClear written and verbal communication skills - able to document findings and communicate issues to both Finance and technical stakeholdersPreferred QualificationsExperience with Python for data analysis or automationFamiliarity with Tableau or Sigma for validation reporting and dashboardsBackground in data quality, data governance, or financial systems reconciliation projectsExperience in manufacturing, consumer products, or promotional products industriesSuccess CriteriaData Lake records are fully reconciled to Oracle EBS with all variances documented and resolvedInaccurate or incomplete records are identified, cleansed, and documentedFinance team has confidence in the Data Lake as an accurate and reliable reporting sourceDetermining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
